Actually what happened, I was on my way to work Friday, 16 Feb 01, around 6:15 am. It had snowed the night before, but the roads weren't that bad. Anyway I was passing another vehicle - no I was not speeding, only doing about 20-25 mph in a 35 - I had gotten my side of the car over the center snow strip, and had almost had the right side over, and the next thing I knew, we were going sideways. I tried the turn into the skid thing, but with the wide tires there was no response. Anyway we went off the road and parked against a tree.
There were several lucky things with the accident. If I had not had the wheels turned, we probably would have hit on my side or rolled and been seriously injured. (The front wheels went over the curb and when the back wheels struck, we were turned perpendicular to the road.) And if we had not struck the tree, we would have continued into a duplex which was only 10-15 feet away.
I received a bump on the head - no damage done there - and my passenger ended up being a little sore.
So here are some photo of the damage.
