& Parent Comments:
Each of the seven classroom teachers constructed integrated presentation rubrics for their content area. Two-hundred and twenty-four students returned parent permission participation forms with required parent signatures. Students created group and individual classroom presentations which teachers and video production students videotaped. Students presented to their parents their individual videotape and a student/parent assessment form with the following statement and questions:
1. Before viewing the videotape, please have the student share with you the objective(s, goal(s, or expected outcome(s of the selected topic, and why he or she chose to learn more about it.
2. Which of the Bethel Performance Learning Outcomes do you feel this student is demonstrating in this videotape in a competent or exemplary manner? (circle all outcomes you feel are presented)

Parents and students were also requested to share comments and suggestions about the video portfolios.
¥ Ninety-nine parents stated that the student's project had demonstrated Communication Skills.
¥Eighty-two parents stated that the student had demonstrated Personal Outcomes.
¥ Eighty-two parents stated that they observed their child demonstrating Social Skills.
¥Seventy-eight parents felt their child's project demonstrated competent or exemplary Thinking Skills Outcomes.
¥Sixty-five parents responded that the student's project demonstrated Interpersonal Outcomes.
¥Fifty-Three parents stated that the student had demonstrated Resource Outcomes.
¥Fifty-three parents responded that the student's project demonstrated Research Skills.
¥Fifty-two parents felt their child demonstrated Listening Skills.
¥Forty-four parents indicated that they observed the student demonstrating Problem Solving Skills.
¥Forty parents responded that the student's project demonstrated Connections Outcomes.
¥Thirty-eight parent responses stated their child had demonstrated Motor Skills.
¥Thirty-six parents stated that they observed Systems Outcomes.
¥Thirty-five parents felt their child's project demonstrated Technology Outcomes.
¥Twenty parents felt the student had demonstrated Aesthetic Skills.
Parent's written comments included:
"Great/Wonderful to see students in action in their classroom without actually being there!"
"Its good for students to see themselves and the effectiveness (or ineffectiveness) of their communication skills i.e., eye-contact, voice, gestures, etc."
"Amount of teamwork, planning, research, etc., are evident in the presentations. This is so real-to-life; this is exactly what students would experience if in a business or if they were at a college level!"
"Excellent instant feed-back for students! Students can immediately see strengths or weakness in their presentation."
"Parents usually see the pieces of work (from a group project) at home. Seldom, if ever, do they get to see the final project."
"Lee was excited about what he was doing, and I could understand what he was talking about a lot better when I saw his tape."
