ATTRIBUTE EMERGING COMPETENT EXEMPLARY

EQUIPMENT SET-UP
AND TAKE-DOWN

Needs help removing the camera from the case and returning it properly. Needs help attaching camera to a tripod.

Can correctlly remove and replace camera from case. Properly attaches camera to tripod. Uses battery power source.

Carefully handles camera in and out of case. Securely attatches camera to tripod. Properly attaches camera to AC adaptor. Uses color monitor and headphones for quality Audio/Video control.

STEADY CAMERA
Shoulder or handheld camera. Objects in and out of focus. Uses auto focus. Firehose panning.

Uses tripod to steady camera. Selects and properly operates manual focus option.

Employs tripod and manual focus for all pan, tilt, arc, and zoom shots & normal, bird's eye, and worm's eye angles.

APPROPRIATE LIGHTING
Indoor and outdoor lighting inconsistant. Videotapes with windows or sun behind subject.

Properly sets white ballance for indoor and outdoor lighting. Avoids backlighting subject.

Consistantly adjusts for indoor and outdoor lighting. Uses fill lighting and reflectors when needed. Uses backlighting as a special effect.

CLEAR SOUND
Sound is not clear. Background noise. Hard to hear or understand voices.

Little or no background noise. Voices are clear and easy to understand.

Uses directional microphones and headphones for consistant sound quality and elimination of unwanted sounds. Uses Background music occasionally.
