Photos from Nisqually Glacier Tours

The Nisqually Glacier tour is the most dramatic and demanding of the intermediate level tours. This tour begins at the Paradise parking lot and follows the Skyline trail to Glacier Vista. Skiers then descend the moraine of the Nisqually glacier and ski down the glaciered valley to the Glacier Bridge parking lot. This tour gains 1000 feet in elevation and then loses 2500 feet. The second part of this tour is a continuous down hill run of two and a half miles. The total length is four miles. It contains some of the most breathtaking and dramatic scenery, especially if you like snow, ice and rock towering thousands of feet above you. This tour ends at 3900 feet elevation so it is best later in the season (February-April) when the depth of snow is greater. It also requires good visibility to ski down this treeless glaciated valley.
