Presentation tutorial
Open OpenOffice and choose "Presentation." This program in OpenOffice is called Impress. Impress creates a slideshow. This tutorial will have two parts. First, you will click on the link and go through the tutorial. The tutorial is here. We have a slightly newer version so don't be surprised when not everything matches up. Second, you will create a slide show presentation in Impress. The subject can be anything as long as it relates to Science. (Don't fret too much about the Science part of the presentation. The main object is that you learn how to use Impress. For example, you are directed to choose a graphic and insert it into your presentation. Does it matter which graphic you choose? No. How many slides does it need to be? It depends - the presentation just needs to show that you have gone through the checklist below and done everything.
Here are the things you need to include:
- backgrounds (2 minimum)
- pictures (2 minimum)
- graphics (2 minimum)
- styles of font (2 minimum)
- font colors (2 minimum)
- font sizes (2 minimum)
- chart
- table
- slide layouts (3 minimum)
- slide transition (2 minimum)
- timings for slides
- custom animation (2 minimum)
- 3-D text
