Betty lives with her husband, Phil, and five cairn terriers on the
beautiful west coast of Washington State where inspiration is abundant.
She has studied with local artist Marjorie Mankin and with Gerald Brommer,
nationally known watercolor artist. Her favorite subjects are dogs
at which she is expert, understanding canine expression and conformation.
Betty has paintings hanging all over the US and is represented by White
Dove Gallery in Washington State, although most of her work is by
commission. Portraits of horses, cats, llamas and other animals are
interspersed with human portraiture.
Phil, is the patient one. His eyes roll to the heavens and a
subtle smile sweeps his face when Betty leaps to her feet from the dinner table and exclaims
that she has to put an idea on paper but he's smart enough to figure out that
she has conned him into the dishes....again! But Betty admits her
time at the easel would be greatly reduced if it were not that Phil helps
care for the dogs and the house.
